Mirazur in the Côte d’Azur has taken out the number one spot at the World’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards 2019, marking the first time that France has received the top honour since the awards began in 2002.
The restaurant, which also holds three Michelin stars, is headed by chef Patron Mauro Colagreco who has worked under prestigious culinary names like Bernard Loiseau, Alain Ducasse and Guy Martin.
‘This recognition from my esteemed colleagues and peers is a great honour. It recognises the trajectory of my life from Argentina to the Riviera that welcomed me so warmly 19 years ago’, said Mauro Colagreco.
Votes for the prestigious awards were submitted by more than 1,000 international food writers, critics, chefs, restaurateurs and industry experts from 26 regions around the world.
