Winston Churchill’s Old War Office is being transformed into London’s first Raffles flagship hotel, set to open in 2022.
The OWO will cover 760,000 square feet in the heart of Whitehall and will house a Raffles hotel with 125 rooms and suites as well as 85 branded private residences, the first from the brand in Europe. Nine restaurants and bars along with a destination spa will complete the project.
The Grade II-listed building, which was originally completed in 1906 by British architect William Young, is being redeveloped with the assistance of experts from English Heritage, the Museum of London Archaeology, and EPR Architects.
The hotel interiors will be designed by NYC-based Thierry Despont and the residences by 1508 London.
