Design studio AB Concept has revealed its ‘futuristic luxury’ interiors at the recently opened Laguna Baycourt Club Hotel & Spa Resort in Gamagori, Japan.
A collaboration with Japanese designers Tanseisha Co. and Yasui Architects & Engineers, the studio took inspiration from the hotel’s coastal location in Mikawa Bay, as well as the fluidity of the building’s architecture.
Design features include carved gold screens in the hotel’s restaurant, Maroce; and antique metal panelling and monochrome stone tiles in the lobby, with sculptural forms reminiscent of waves.
Ed Ng explained, ‘Contrasting colour schemes and wave-like elements helped us to emulate the surrounding coastline and capture the geographical essence of the area in our designs.’
