Virtuoso pianist Lang Lang has collaborated with Steinway & Sons on a grand piano – the first time a classical pianist has been invited to join the design process.
The Lang Lang Black Diamond is one of the first Steinway & Sons pianos to come with new Spirio R technology, which allows pianists to record and reproduce their playing identically and instantly on the same piano. A limited edition run of eight concert grand pianos Model D in Macassar ebony finish and 88 grand pianos Model B in black high-gloss finish or Macassar ebony are available.
The instrument debuted at a Lang Lang concert at the Paris Philharmonic to 1,600 guests.
