IWC Schaffhausen has unveiled Ceralume®, a proprietary luminous ceramic technology, marking a milestone in luxury watchmaking. This breakthrough allows IWC to produce fully luminous ceramic watch cases by mixing ceramic powders with Super-LumiNova® pigments. A concept watch using Ceralume® emitted a bright blueish light for over 24 hours in tests. IWC has a history of ceramic innovations, from black zirconium oxide cases in 1986 to coloured ceramics in their TOP GUN models.
