Fairmont Le Montreux Palace

Following a successful pilot in 2019, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has announced a global partnership with the Montreux Jazz Festival, which will see a series of special musical programs and activations taking place in the lead up to the festival’s 54th edition.

Fairmont’s Le Montreux Palace on Lake Geneva will be the centrepiece property of the collaboration, welcoming festival-goers and music lovers in the heart of Montreux. The hotel’s House of Jazz will showcase daily jam sessions and concerts from musical icons and emerging artists throughout the festival.

However, those unable to attend this year’s festival can still get a taste of what’s on offer. Kicking off on 29 January, Fairmont is hosting a World Tour that will see two emerging artists on this year’s festival line-up playing intimate shows at 13 Fairmont properties around the world.

From January 29 to February 12, 2020, soul singer Jalen N’Gonda will perform at six Fairmont properties in South and North America. Canadian blues and rock musician Bobby Bazini is currently touring six Fairmont hotels in Europe and the Middle East, with a performance at The Savoy London set to take place on 3 March. To close off the tour, the two artists will join at Fairmont Le Montreux Palace for a final jam session on 7 March 2020.

‘Fairmont’s special connection to music is at the forefront of our rich and celebrated brand history,’ said Sharon Cohen, Vice President, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. ‘As a proud supporter of musical talent, we are thrilled to expand our partnership with the Montreux Jazz Festival through exclusive activations and innovative programming that will not only inspire our guests but provide them with opportunities to discover new music.’

Jalen N’Gonda and Bobby Bazini are integrated into the talent pipeline of the non-profit Montreux Jazz Artists Foundation (MJAF), dedicated to scouting and promoting up-and-coming artists.

‘The Montreux Jazz Festival is proud to bring emerging musical talent to audiences all around the world, in a series of exclusive intimate and enriching experiences. This global musical adventure highlights Fairmont’s hospitality excellence, as well as our shared passion for music and commitment to supporting the next generation of artists,’ said Mathieu Jaton, CEO, Montreux Jazz Festival.

The Montreux Jazz Festival 2020 runs from 3 to 18 July, with the full programme announced on 26 March. Artists announced so far include Lionel Richie, who will be supported by Brittany Howard; and Lenny Kravitz, who will be supported by the Black Pumas.
