One of South Africa’s preeminent luxury safari lodges has revealed a refurbishment project. Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve’s new-look suites at its Earth Lodge property have been conceptualised by Dakota Design and draw from the beauty of the surrounding environment.
Among the design features at the lodge are an arrangement of kudu horns, a bespoke slate drinks cupboard, a leather headboard topped with handcrafted metal birds, Kiaat timber vanities in the bathrooms and a terrace lounge framed by a new full-length pool.
As part of marking its 40th anniversary this year, Sabi Sabi has also released a cookbook, Bringing the Bush Home, which celebrates the cuisine of the lodges, influenced by traditional dishes, local specialities and changing international dining trends.
