Between 18 October and 8 November, those visiting Guerlain’s historic Paris boutique will be invited to view an exhibition from 20 global artists looking at the state of the natural world.
Gaïa, what are you becoming? is a collection of 30 works in tribute to Gaia, goddess of the Earth in the Greek pantheon, which calls for reflection on the state of the environment in the wake of climate change.
The exhibition encompasses installation art, photography, paintings and video which are spread over three floors in Guerlain House.
‘Much more than just a fleeting fad, the need to care for the environment and protect the planet is something that we’re all (finally) starting to grasp. In the field of visual arts, interactions between the artist and the natural world are the very basis of the practice of representation.’ said Caroline Messensee, exhibition curator.
